The Danville Area Chamber of Commerce celebrates the beginning of Summer with Danville Summerfest! June 21 & 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m on Hartz & Prospect Avenues in Downtown Danville. Co-sponsored by the Town of Danville, Danville Summerfest! (formerly the Danville Fine Arts Faire) features a dazzling spectrum of art, live music on stage and street corner, and a Children’s Fair including pony rides, train rides and arts & crafts.
More than 200 artisans from around the country and the Bay Area display their work during this two-day event. The artwork, often one-of-a-kind, represents widely varying styles and mediums including painting, sculpture, glass, ceramics and photography, as well as mixed-media, fiber, metal, leather and wood.
The art of music is also well represented, as street musicians strum and sing. New this year – a performance stage on the South end of Hartz Avenue, and a Children’s Fair nearby in the Balford Building parking lot. Prospect Avenue Activities during the weekend include a local merchant street fair on Saturday and a Classic Car Show and a Vintage BMX bike show on East Prospect (Sunday only).
Hosted by the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce, two Beverage Gardens offer a relaxing setting for people-watching while enjoying the music and adult beverages, fine wines and micro-brews paired with gourmet fair food.
“Walking through the streets, sampling food, seeing the art and listening to the street musicians – it’s a great way to catch up with old friends and make new ones,” says Shelby McNamara, president of the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce.
Bring the whole family to Danville Summerfest! June 21 & 22, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission is free, with free parking in city-owned parking lots and curbside, and free bike parking near Prospect and Hartz Avenue. Call the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce for more info! 925-837-4400
