American Legion National Commander Dinner
Sponsorship Proposal
The American Legion National Commander tours the country every year starting in December to meet with local posts. The Commander starts in Hawaii then comes to California and the Bay Area each year but has never visited Department of California, District 9 (essentially posts in Contra Costa county). There are eight American Legion posts in District 9 and all the posts will be invited to have members attend. Post 246 has volunteered to host the Commander at the Veterans Memorial Building in Danville, including meals, local transportation, and lodging.
To cover the costs of hosting this onetime event, we are proposing to offer sponsorships of dinner tables. Our banquet hall will hold up to 160 people comfortably (more if we squeeze); i.e., 20 tables. We are requesting a donation of $500 to sponsor each table for which the sponsor may have a table centerpiece of their design (not too big), an attending company representative, prominent recognition in the program "brochure/flyer", and recognition in local media (TBD) and American Legion publications. Please consider this one-time outreach event so that as many of our District 9 veterans (WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and later) as possible will have the opportunity to personally meet our National Commander with minimum personal expense.
American Legion Mt. Diablo Post 246 is a non-profit 501(c)19 (veterans) organization; our EIN is 23-7085781.
