Day of the Town

Speed Networking Mixer

Thursday, May 14, 2015

Join us to meet and mingle in a whole new way!

Meet Danville Town Council members , key staff

and local business leaders!

Networking is just that...working! Pick up a handful of business cards and finish your workday with us. Speed Networking is a structured, efficient and fast-paced event where participants have the opportunity to speak face-to-face with other community and business representatives, sitting at tables in groups of eight, ten minutes at a time. It is good for experienced and nervous networkers alike and we guarantee that you will meet more people than you typically do during the same amount of time in an unstructured setting.

Town Council members, Town staff and Chamber Board members will be hosting tables. Members will rotate through the tables getting one minute to introduce themselves and swap business cards with everyone at the table.

When the bell sounds …. You are off to another table.

"The goal of this event is to introduce the business community to the Town Council , Town management staff and to each other in a fun, fast paced environment", says Shelby McNamara, President of the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Each person at the table has one minute to introduce themselves and their product or service. Before the evening is finished, you will have met at least 40 contacts!

May 28    What's New in Water Heating Technologies
The hot water system is a basic component of any commercial food service operation. Water heating, delivery and use represents a significant cost to the operator ranging from $2,000 in a small quick-service restaurant to $50,000 annually in a large full-service restaurant in California. It would make sense that this near-universal water-and-energy using system would evolve to become highly efficient but that is not the case. A century later, the heaters, piping, piping layout and hot water using equipment that make up the typical food service hot water system have changed little in most kitchens, making this a robust opportunity for real energy and water savings. New centralized water heaters and localized water heating technologies will be covered with insights in to compatibility in existing facilities and performance improvements versus conventional water heaters. Case studies of new and emerging technologies will showcase the performance improvements and savings of water heating and preheating technologies used independently and in combination with other best-in-class technologies. The material will cover both new-construction and opportunities for existing facilities.
