Sep 22    Columnist, Debra J Saunders speaking on Current News Events

A columnist for The San Francisco Chronicle since 1992 is only one of her many endeavors. Ms.

Saunders’, at one time, was also a columnist and editorial writer for the Los Angeles Daily News. She

was recognized by the prestigious National Journal’s “Talking Heads” column as a member of the Ateam

of top political personalities. Vaughn Ververs wrote: (and we as readers know) that “her column

is a welcome change in tone from the rest of the editorial page, and she regularly throws punches at

both sides.” Ms. Saunders’ column is syndicated through Creators Syndicate and runs in newspapers

throughout the country. She has also written for The Wall Street Journal, The Weekly Standard and

National Review besides writing her own books. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the

University of Massachusetts at Boston with a B.A. in Greek and Latin.

he Danville Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to offer its members an opportunity to join the Sunrise Alliance, a business-by-referral group that meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month from 7:30 to 8:30 A.M.
The Sunrise Alliance serve as a collaborative meeting space to support and generate qualified business leads and referrals, adding value to the Chamber of Commerce’s mission.
The Alliance enables its members to connect, collaborate and develop their own professional networks within in the community we live in and beyond.
The Sunrise Alliance is limited to one participant of any industry or business. This collaboration has been successful in generating referrals for its members, who share ideas and connections within the community to benefit each Alliance member. The annual cost per year is $155.

Sep 26    Artistry in Fashion
The Cañada College Fashion Department hosts its annual "Artistry in Fashion"" non-profit event on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This shopping extravaganza features dozens of designers selling clothing, jewelry, and other fashions. Visitors can tour the Fashion Department's Open House to view student projects from noon to 3:00 p.m. Pattern designer and educator, Linda Lee, will present a fashion show in the auditorium at 4 p.m. A $10 donation benefits student scholarships. Sep 26    New Art Exhibit and Opening Reception at Blackhawk Gallery
Alamo Danville Artists? Society will host the opening of Blackhawk Gallery?s new Exhibit ?InterPlay?. Gala Reception will be held on Saturday, September 26th from 5 to 7PM with wine and Hors d?oeuvre. The exhibit will be on view seven days a week from September 25, 2015 to November 29, 2015, Monday-Saturday 10AM-8 PM and Sunday 11AM-6 PM. The Reception and Exhibit are free and open to the public. The ?InterPlay? exhibit features sculptures by guest artists Mary and Ted Bayer, and works by forty member artists. Members? artworks include paintings, drawings, sculptures, ceramics, photographs, and wearable art. The exhibit is curated by Pete DeFao, Debby Koonce, and Kerima Swain.
